Jo Ann Morning's formal art experience began in Los Angeles where she was influenced by the teachings of Arnold Mesches. This influence is still present in all her paintings and prints where nature and the figure interact. Her art has become increasingly intent on merging the power of color and the force of form. Her life is one of color, and color remains her dominant pulse.

She has lived in the Pacific Northwest and California and traveled in Mexico and Europe, her art evolving to reflect those varied environments and experiences. Her work has been shown throughout the west coast and appears in distinguishing international private collections. During the course of her career, Jo Ann immersed herself in intaglio, lithographic print-making, oil and watercolor painting, graphic and video production.
